I'm considering adding a mandarin to my frag tanks. The tanks themselves are 80 gallons and 30 gallons, however they are tied to a system with a total water volume of 385 gallons and packed with pods with no other competition. Will having the frag tanks plumbed into a large system be able to support the mandarins even if the tank's they are actually in are smaller? I've wanted them for many years, but never tried them. Currently, by tanks are always covered in pods.

i have never had issues with mandarins. I have a red and psychodelic in a 250g, but have another red (the red/blue.. standard) in a 35 gallon, with standard sump.. I used a few rock from my 250g when i set it up, but that's it. i feed the tank frozen (thawed) mysis and PE Calanus.. had the mandarin in that tank for over a year

Thanks guys! I'm going to start calling around my LFSs and see if I can find some near me :) Maybe I can get one or two this weekend if I'm lucky.
