Switching to a new tank soon and I would like to add more bartlets anthias. I've got 2 now and would like 7-9 total.

Add all at once?

Swap the 2 over and add the others later in the evening?

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I would add them all at once and all should be around the same size...don't be surprised when they mature that a few may turn male or sub-male and fight..Bartletts are known for that...beautiful fish but aggresssive.

Aren't they even more prone to aggressive behavior? Beautiful fishes, I've got both in my tank and they seem alright with each other. The Bartlett was there first. My flame angel keeps the large female lyretail at bay.

Yeah, lyretails are generally even more aggressive than bartletts. I believe pink square anthias are closer to the bartletts aggression-wise.

IME bartletts are more aggressive than lyretails. I'd personally add lyretails.

yeah , i have a 3 bartletts. 1 male and 1 female, then one sub male. all i can say is it is the most frustrating addition i have ever had in any system. the male goes nuts when the sub male tries to come out of hiding. also , the male is super aggressive towards any other tank mate. if i could go back, i would not have put bartletts in my tank. now i have to get them out , and it is not going to be easy. i would say if your male and female are doing fine together, leave them together. if you wind up adding more and have sub males, you will find them fighting all the time.
