Hello R2R! So I have a 180 bow that’s a pretty well stocked mixed reef. I have one occy clown from day one of my saltwater tank start up (about 2 years now). She was my first fish and has been the one and only clown I’ve had. I’ve always wanted more clowns and I’m ready. Knowing I have only one 2 year old occy I’d like to get her a mate and possibly 2 of a different type as well. What’s it gonna take to keep the aggression done between the 4?

Current stock list: purple tang, kole tang, powder blue tang, Midas blenny, 3 banggai, 5 chromis, prawn goby, and my lonely clown

You will need to make sure that you are getting a male as yours is certainly female at this point. Go for a smaller individual.

You didn't mention, but stick with occelaris or percula, stay away from other species. Also, some of the more unusual variants can get isolated in groups from more 'typical' clown types. The less they look like a clownfish, the more likely there might be aggression issues.

TBH, I probably wouldn't do three more clowns. There's still going to be a pecking order between the males and the fish on the bottom is going to have a very hard time.

I agree try and get a small occelaris, adding more than 2 will likely not end well. If you insist on keeping multiple clowns I would introduce all of them at the same time as small as you can find. Good luck

Sounds good. I did some reading yesterday and have decided to do another occy. Probably wait a bit before I add more than the one and if or when I do I’ll just add a known pair of percs. Thank you for the advice
