Adding more dry rock to establish tank?

Hello everyone. Just wondering here about adding dry rock to my main display of establish tank. Does this will effect tank chemistry? Or could crash the tank and put the tank in cycle again? Thank you

Shouldn't be an issue. Unless the dry rock has tons of dead stuff on it.

Ive done it a million times , just go like less than 10% of the total volume at a time , then wait a week or two and add more. You will hasten the "curing" time to it being " live "

I’ve done it a few times. I usually add 1 or 2 at a time to not offset the tank

Do y’all cure the rock first? Just to get the crud, or whatever crud is on them, off of them?

That's what I'm doing right now. Curing rocks right now in a bucket or RO water. Saw an ammonia spike and PO4 was 1ppm+

Going to use gfo until rocks stop leaching phosphates and then I can then add it to my tank when ammonia goes down to 0.
