i have a 20 gallon aquarium that has been up for about 2 months now. I cycled it with a clown fish and bacteria in a bottle. I was wondering if it is ok to get another clown fish and a orchid dottyback or if I should wait longer

It would probably be ok to add a fish. I’ve read that clowns should be added in pairs so they’ll get along. That’s how I’ve always done it. In a tank that size, you’d have to watch them. Adding another fish shouldn’t be a problem. Just test the water and maybe dose a little Prime for back up if there’s any ammonia spike. There really shouldn’t be but I do it just as a precaution.

if the existing clown is small, try to get a much larger one. If they are same size, may cause problem. Larger clown fish will be the female (or become a female as clowns change sex... A school of clownfish is always built into a hierarchy with a female fish at the top. When she dies, the most dominant male changes sex and takes her place).
