I was wondering the best way to add a fish to a new tank is the thing is I don’t have the space for a qt tank. I’ve had horrible luck in the past with fish to the point I almost gave up on fish all together. First two clowns ick in my 14g biocube. Gave up on fish for awhile let the tank fishless cycle moved to my 36g bowfront decided to get more fish got two clowns and a yellow tang bought a black clown and the tang first was doing great and decided to get a clown from a different store and bam. Ick killed all the fish before I had time to qt and treat. After a long period of time I went with a maroon clown and a yellow tang. Which the tang got ick and survived been in my tank for months now. Just wondering if I wanna risk adding a fish or not.

And I don’t wanna hear how yellow tang is bad idea for 36g

Well....a yellow tang is a bad idea for a 36g....

If you aren't going to QT, you ARE going to introduce ich into your tank. Stress and less than ideal conditions will cause fish to show more signs of ich. A fish that needs a much bigger tank is going to be stressed.

The ich is there. You know it is. Adding a fish is up to you, but you know it has a chance of getting it.

tangs have a thin slime coat so they're more susceptible to ich.. and putting it in a way too small tank probably stresses the fish out as well

i can't really follow what you're saying with the clowns, but do you just keep adding them to already existing clowns? you should have 2 at most

couldn't you use the original 14g biocube to qt?

You may want to look at where you’re getting your fish from.
I was at a lfs a couple weeks back and saw a wrasse I really liked. In observing the tank it was in I noticed two other fish that didn’t look healthy and were displaying signs of ick. Looked in some other tanks and saw a couple dead fish.
I passed on the wrasse.

Both of my fish I have kept alive are from petco the ones that have killed my fish were from a petstore that bought from side breeders
