Hi!! I’ve just set up a 180 gallon marine tank. The nitrogen cycle is complete and now I’m adding two fishes 1. Fire fish goby, 2. Royal gramma
But the main confusion comes in adding some inverts I want diversity in my tank with inverts I want to add
1. Dwarf Red legged hermit
2. Trochus snail
3. Nassarius snail
4. Pistol shrimp
5. Cleaner shrimp
6. Emerald crab
7. Fighting conch

I know hermit can go at snails, but except that is there any problem. What to add and what to substract also how many of each can I keep in my 180gallon. Thank you[emoji3]

The shrimps should be fine together.

An emerald in a 180 might never be seen, and needs a good source for food too, so if your tank is new, it might not have enough algae for it to eat...

The conch is fine, but limit yourself to one.

Snails and hermits are part of a monthly addition for my 220, I never seem to have enough, I imagine you will add a few now and a few every couple months... forever, lol... Maybe that is just me though!

Thank you so much sbash. Is the snail killing rampant by hermit?? Also do I need any other cuc, for sand cleaning and anything else.

Also should I get the bigger conches or the small ones ?? I like the big one because of it’s huge shell.

Your list looks very reasonable to me; you can keep them all together, especially in a tank that size. It's hard to generalize about hermits because there are so many species. It seems that many will just attack snails when they don't have enough food or if they need a bigger shell than what's available. Anecdotally, blue legged hermits are more likely to attack snails than red legs. Emerald crabs can annoy corals when their food supply runs out. Most crabs can only be trusted so far; exception being the Neopetrolisthes anemone crabs (which are great, especially if you keep anemones.) I like your choice of snails and shrimp; you could also add Fire Shrimp and some Cerith snails to that mix. If you're not planning on keeping sea stars, a bonded pair of Harlequin Shrimp are amazing, but you do have to keep them fed. The Fighting Conch never actually fights anything, it's completely docile and a good reef resident and you can keep several if you want.

Thank you so much rkpetersen that was really helpful. I would definitely look into harlequin shrimps they do look amazing. I’ll be keeping lps and hard corals since there is ban on sps in my country, but I’ll add them almost 6 months later.
