Hi, In in the process of setting up a 150 gallon system, I am using the red sea reef mature to cycle my tank. I am on day 4 of the the cycle schedule and I realized that I want to add another 40 lbs of live sand. Anyone have a opinion on this? Would this restart my cycle?

I don't think it would re-start your cycle. You just started it. Even if the tank was further along, adding the sand should not be an issue. I have done it and never had an issue.

Of course, the caveat I would add.... every tank and system is different. Track your parameters for Ammonia, Nitrites and Nitrates.

Thanks, the sand is coming on monday. So I'll be in day 7 of the cycle. Do you think that will change anything ?

nope. Just continue to do your testing of Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate. I think you would be fine.

Side question. Do I have to dose the red sea mature reef at the same time everyday?

Just add it ASAP you’ll be fine ... it’s still cycling and a true cycle should take you at least 3 weeks if you want things to really get more stabilized
