Adding peaceful fish to an existing simi-agressive aquarium

What would the best way to add a peaceful wrasse to an existing Simi-aggressive tank be?

I would suggest putting the wrasse in a fish acclimation box and then when you put the wrasse all the way in move the rock work around beforehand.

What kind of wrasse to what semi aggressve fish? Some wrasses are better equiped to handle aggression than others.

A carpenter wrasse with a dwarf angel and a falco hawkfish

I wouldnt worry about either of those fish bothering the carpenter. The body styles are quite different and that is one of the biggest considerations regarding aggression. There may be some initial interest when first added, but shouldnt last past the first few minutes.

Just got My carpenter this morning it still looks like a juvenile and is about 2.5 in long. When I put it in it my qt it went and hid, any clue how long this will last

Make sure he has places to hide by using PVC pipe bits. It sometimes takes a little while for fish to get comfortable with you.

Its got plenty of hiding places , right now he's under a coral skeleton, any clue how long it'll take him to reach adult coloration

At 2.5", it's likely a female. As far as how long, since there are no other Wrasses present, it possibly could stay a female. Otherwise, the change normally happens over the course of a couple months once it starts.

But the color of it will get better as it ages right

I don't think its a female , its got the long fin off its dorsal and there's hints of blue, that's why I think its a juvenile or sub adult

Ok, well then yes, it is a transitioning male. That makes all the difference. My point was at 2.5", it is no longer a juvenile, and so is either a male, female, or transitioning So in that case, it may take a month or two to complete the transition, but without a pic I am just guessing.
