I have about 50lbs of rock in my tank. If I threw in another 50lb, will there be any effect, like the tank going into a new cycle? Using fresh dry rock

Why would the tank go into a new cycle if the rock is clean new dry rock.

Assuming it’s not contaminated with anything likely to die and inject a major amount of ammonia into the system, I can’t see an issue.

When I built my rock structure, it started off very small and I just added rock as needed and as I modified and increased the rockwork without any issues. It was clean new artificial reef rock.

If your unsure of the rock quality just add a bit at a time as you design it, sit back and ponder how it looks and then add some more

How big is the tank? It's up for debate but depending on your direction I'd add live rock from a LFS or 3 if looking to add more. (Not trying to start a fight with everyone about quarantine)

Agree with the Po4 , I have had bad algae problems with dry rock. Depending on time a curing with some bottle bacteria would give this rock a kick start.
Now my personal opinion. All dry rock needs to be tested for excess nutrients No3 & Po4 before adding it to the tank. Testing & drawing out the nutrients . can take a long time Just my OP.
