I just purchased a nice bonsai rock from my local forum that had been dry for about a week. I am currently soaking in a bucket with ro water and vinegar to clear off any extra crap. What should I do besides this to not not cause a spike in my params? And how long should I leave in the vinegar bucket?

Thanks!

Take it out now and rinse well. Then fill the bucket with old tank water and a powerhead for a few weeks. Add some bottled bacteria for good measure..

Well shoot that sucks. So I'm basically going to have to recycle the rock again like I did my tank?

you just want to make sure the organics are gone really. after a week test it for ammonia No4 po4 etc. if its fine its fine.
