SO,Im wanting to add one good size flat shelf type rock to my tank to bridge a gap and open up some more real estate for adding corals. Can I add a live rock, or should it be dead or whats best. I dont have another tank so I dont have the ability to have it sit in a tank and let it go through cycle... what are options? Thanks!

Plenty of options
Local live rock throw it in right away and welcome any pest that are thriving there-risky
Dry rock, cured in a bucket or brute trash can then add it
Cure method of personal choice is bleach takes me a week..do a lot of research if you haven’t already before tho
Then there’s manufactured rock This stuff you just rinse and toss it in
