I've got a 45 gal with about 15 lbs of pukani (and enough pond matrix for 60 gal). I picked up a 3.5 lb live pukani rock from my LFS today so I can fill in a hole in my aquascape, what's the best way to add it to my system? The rock doesn't have any visible pests/hitch-hikers, aside from a bit of algae, neither does my display and I'd like to keep it that way of course.

Should I just put it in since it's already been cycled?
Should I soak it in a bucket of saltwater for a week for good measure?
Give it a bath in RODI? Coral dip?

I guess I'm paranoid I'll inadvertently crash my tank. What do you guys think?

I agree, I wouldn't put it straight in. Give it a week in some clean salt water and test the water after a week and then proceed from there.

If it's already cycled from your reef shop, I'd scrub it down, rinse it out with display water and put it in the main display right now.

But... JMO :)
