Adding sand to a cold tank!?

I have 120 pounds of live sand and the temperature of the tank is 71.8 is this to cold for the sand or will it be fine

Yes. Just fine.

You bought the sand online or at a LFS.
It's doubtful either one stored the live sand at 80°F. Bacteria will still be alive, no problem.
