Hey guys - what's the best way to add shimmer to an ATI 8 bulb Sunpower?
I'm guessing Kessil; but would an A160 work? Or does the A360 produce a more prominent shimmer? Has anyone tried one or both of these?
I tried a radion XR15 on the back; and it makes a very soft shimmer.
Thanks!

I'm not sure you'll get much shimmer with 8 t5 bulbs all lit up. I would think the XR15 would work about as well as the Kessil. Hopefully somebody here with an ATI 8 bulb will chime in.

I haven’t been able to get much shimmer on my system . I have a 8 bulb ATI with 2 reefbrites now.
love the color and my sps are doing great but no shimmer.

That's why I was looking more at the Kessils - very intense point source vs a bar of LED's. I was just curious of experiences with that combo

Just out of curiosity how would you mount the Kessils? I am thinking about going the reefbrite route more for a pop of color than shimmer but a little shimmer wouldn't hurt.

I would probably mount them to the wall on a T slot rail somehow

You have tons of options when you don't have to worry about cords & aesthetics

I have 6 bulb sunpower w/ a SBreef s bar (actinic) it shimmer’s hard! Started with 2xblue reefbrite XHO’s. There’s no comparison the sbar by far surpasses the reefbrite’s in terms of output and the color is just amazing. It comes with a dimmer which reefbrite don’t and it’s a 1/3 of the cost of a xho. Mounts right up to the ATI fixtures. I’ll get you pictures!

Really? I looked at the XHO's but they didn't seem like enough of a point-source to pierce through T5.
I'll look into them - is this what you have/

They have more LEDs diodes with no optics just polish parabolic reflector and it’s just blue diodes on xho reef brite. They do show thru the color is blah in comparison no where as bright as the sbar.

The sbar has less LEDs but a stronger driver and optics which put the light down way more efficiently. Mine has never created any heat the reefbrite where hot. They have both blue 420 and UV diodes better spectrum. My one sbar replace both of my xhos.... What you have picture above is it!

Video of the shimmer if it loads.

I was just wonder if you can see the video lol? For future post because I can’t see it. ;Dead

I had to download it on my computer; wouldn't work on my phone. Haha I found a way! Wanted to see that shimmer!

Cool! So that’s with all 6 t5 bulbs and the bar at 65-75%. That’s a crappy iPhone video it can pick it up the shimmers pretty instense especially during my 12 hr blue light period 1 blue plus, 1 actinic, and sbar.

My bulb combo is fairly bright and not blue at all it shows thru well.(front to back)

Sbar

Blue Plus
Blue Plus
Coral Plus
Actinic
Actinic (I had a spare wavepoint reef wave which is equivalent my ati actinic burnt out. It’ll do)
