I have this simple flowmeter, which I could add to the returnline.
The only place to add it would be the back of the tank (I have return on the back).
It shows 300-3000l/h, so close to 1-10x turnover.
Should I add it or not bother?

The main thing I would look for is that most flow meters of this style are not saltwater safe and will rust over time. If you know the meter is safe for seawater then I would go for it.

Yes, if parts are plastic, reef safe it is good to know real flow.
