Hi All,

So I am upgrading from my evo13.5 to an IM fusion 40 soon. Going to be doing a few things differently to try and avoid some problems I ran into with the evo, which was my first ever tank.

Ive been battling gha in the evo for a while now and havent been able to get rid of it. Pretty much all my corals look pretty good just some algae around frag plugs and what not.

When the 40 is ready, whats the best way to being them over without introducing a problem into my new tank.

Also I have a war coral on a smaller rock. Its not possible to remove it is it? Or am I just going to have to clean that rock well and add that?

And my last question for now is in regards to my zoas. I can get the bulk off im guessing bc its still a frag plug but is it possible to get the newer growth off as well?

Thanks for any help

I believe your best bet is to learn to deal with problems. Your new tank will have them too. If your nutrients are in line, I suspect your GHA is something else. I would hit it with Flucon. I have had good luck with it killing pest algae. Your easier option is to not use anything with GHA on it. The problem with that is that I am sure you have stuff you want to keep. If you keep it, the GHA will be in your new tank.

If the War coral has grown onto the rock you will have to cut it off to get the whole thing. Same with the Zoas and others. You have to take a portion of the base rock to get them off.
If it were me I would hit the EVO with Flucon and see if you can kill it off.

Ive done a few treatments of flucon. It always knocked it back but never got rid of it.

I cut back on feeding, lights. Water params always looked ok. Its been frustrating but have been wanting to go bigger since I got the evo. Just hoping to plan this out a little better and take my time. Hoping the extra 30 gallons will make things a bit easier. I know its not huge but more room than a 13 gal
