So I have a 10g IM fusion setup in my kitchen. I’ve been contemplating for some time now about connecting a small sump to it for added water volume, stability, equipment storage etc.

I have a perfect place (see pic) in an adjacent closet where I already have my electrical and ATO stored. Has anybody ever done this before? It seems to kind of counteract the benefit of an AIO tank???

If you have done it (or seen it done) what would be your recommended overflow design? I REALLY don’t want to drill an AIO tank :)

I agree on not drilling the tank. I have a 12g nano and the back is tempered glass. You could add the sump but it seems to complicate things. What do you plan on keeping in the tank?

Mainly planning on some softies but would like the idea of the capability to add some sps as well :)

A hang on the back overflow would be the only option as far as I know. Although it does have the risk of draining you tank flooding your house
