Have a 225 gal. (72Lx24wx30T) with 6 Radion XR30 G4 pros 12" above water line. Would I gain anything by adding 4 T5 bulbs? SPS dominant running a modified AB+ schedule. Thanks

If your Radions are all in one roll, going along the center of your 225, then adding t5's upfront and back would help in even sps growth shapes, because they would be receiving light from all angles and their growth would be getting wider, and just not get tall growth.

But if your leds are spaced out with length coverage along with upfront and back cover then you may not need t5's to gain wide sps.

You'd want a full front, back and middle light spread coverage for even acro growth or it may shade out on the front a back as an acro grows. So, the additions t5's gives acros to chance to reach out (grow) in those areas.

Hope all the above helps, and good luck making your final decision.

Do you have the 6 running front to back the long way?

I gave a 72x30x24 High. Bigger than yours front to back but not as high. I’m running 4 g4 30s pro front to back with 4 T5 Sps dominant with about 40% colonies 60% frags.

To answer your question I would think if you added t5 you could get rid of at least one of your radions.

As you probably know t5 are very good atfilling in the gaps left by LED but with 6 radions on a 6’ tank I would think your tank is well covered.

Everyone I know who adds t5 even with extra radions over the tank ends up getting more uniform growth form, tighter growth and brighter colors. The ones that had minimal fixtures to start with saw the most change but even the ones with lots of fixtures saw improvements. Defiantly not needed but imo you can grow the colonies larger without running into issues if you add t5. I always prefer the t5 alongside led especially with two white and two blue bulbs, but to each their own.

Yes they're spaced evenly across the tank front to back lengthwise.
