If you were going to add 2-3 of the smaller tangs, what would you get and in what order would you add them? In my case, the tank is 48"x32"

Cool, yellow eye kole (i prefer that over the blue eye) might be the first I put in.Blue eyed Kole, mimic yellow tang, purple tang
I don't have a big enough QT. I've never had an issue in the past adding tangs months apart. In my experience all tangs should be added at the sametime.
Agree.Yellow eye kole or tomini, purple or yellow, convict. In that order if can't be added simultaneously.
Risky in what way?Agree.
To the op, adding tangs is always a risk, I wish you luck but the absolute best odds are to add simultaneously as said.
I'm giving it a go again. Got it all set up.I thought you didn't quarantine?
See my tang aggression thread, but you've been lucky thus far.Risky in what way?
In all my years I've never had problems with Tangs. Except for one yellow belly regal who I think was irritating my open brain.
Ah, aggression towards other fish? Yeah, never had that problem but it can happen.See my tang aggression thread, but you've been lucky thus far.

If I end up with a grumpy one I'll just take it out... no big deal.
But for the most part are pretty peaceful when compared to the majority of tangs. Sure, there are exceptions, but the norm is that they are more peaceful than most other tangs.Kole tang can be extremely aggressive and can do serious damage
It was my understanding that convict tangs were very passive and should be added first and that a purple tang would be last due to its aggressive nature. Making the list convict, yellow eye, purple/yellow if adding all at the same time cannot be done?Yellow eye kole or tomini, purple or yellow, convict. In that order if can't be added simultaneously.
Convict angs are still in the genus Acanthurus, and while peaceful for an Acanthurus, are still just as or more aggressive than Ctenochaetus and Zebrasoma.. i would still recommend kole, purple, convict. It was my understanding that convict tangs were very passive and should be added first and that a purple tang would be last due to its aggressive nature.
