If you were going to add 2-3 of the smaller tangs, what would you get and in what order would you add them? In my case, the tank is 48"x32"

Blue eyed Kole, mimic yellow tang, purple tang

Cool, yellow eye kole (i prefer that over the blue eye) might be the first I put in.

In my experience all tangs should be added at the sametime.
I don't have a big enough QT. I've never had an issue in the past adding tangs months apart.

I was saying blue eye so the colors are a little diffrent from the purple tang.
I have a yellow eye and I enjoy him like my little son Kole.
Whatever u do I'm sure it will be great

Yellow eye kole or tomini, purple or yellow, convict. In that order if can't be added simultaneously.
Agree.

To the op, adding tangs is always a risk, I wish you luck but the absolute best odds are to add simultaneously as said.

Risky in what way?
In all my years I've never had problems with Tangs. Except for one yellow belly regal who I think was irritating my open brain.

See my tang aggression thread, but you've been lucky thus far.

Ah, aggression towards other fish? Yeah, never had that problem but it can happen.
If I end up with a grumpy one I'll just take it out... no big deal.

Towards other tangs, namely

Kole tang can be extremely aggressive and can do serious damage

But for the most part are pretty peaceful when compared to the majority of tangs. Sure, there are exceptions, but the norm is that they are more peaceful than most other tangs.

It was my understanding that convict tangs were very passive and should be added first and that a purple tang would be last due to its aggressive nature. Making the list convict, yellow eye, purple/yellow if adding all at the same time cannot be done?

Convict angs are still in the genus Acanthurus, and while peaceful for an Acanthurus, are still just as or more aggressive than Ctenochaetus and Zebrasoma.. i would still recommend kole, purple, convict.

Well I did not take that into consideration thanks eatbreakfast
