I am setting up a 220 in my basement. The display will be in the family room and all the plumbing will be in the store room. Right now I have a sump sitting over a 75 with a drain from the sump into it and a 40 breeder set up draining into the 75. The 220 will drain to the sump which will drain to the 75 which will be pumped back to the display. I bought another 200 gallon tank because it was cheap. I'd like to put it in the store room and add it to the system for extra water volume. Good idea or bad idea???

Good idea provided it doesn't effect anything in a bad way like an ato.

I've got 180 display and 300 total gallons. 100 gallon stock tank main sump, 30 gallon refugium, 25 gallon skimmer section.

More volume seems much better to me.

There definitely is something to be said for more volume. Keep in mind more volume means more expense: Heating, chilling, larger partial water changes. IMO, it's best to add volume when the additional volume is serving a greater purpose, like a refugium.

It would be a 200 gallon refugium with live rock and a dsb.
