Adding the salt

i have prefilled my 40 gallom tank with water when it comes to add the 10 pounds of salt i believe my packet says should i dump it in at one go or add it bit by bit

It shouldn’t make a difference, just make sure there are no large clumps and add some sort of power head or Wavemaker to keep the water moving

I would suggest next time you mix the salt in the water prior to putting in the tank.

Would also suggest letting the salt mix for 24 hours before you do any adjusting!

I use a large bucket to mix my salt in using a wave maker. I mix it for about 20 minutes until the salt has all dissolved. Do a quick test and then in the tank.
I’ve made the mistake of trying to be super accurate with each bucket and always tend to have a higher salinity than I was aiming for, so now I aim slightly lower and it hits the mark.
