I currently dose 10 ml of vinegar into my tank every day. Part of me is thinking of adding vodka, just to experiment.

If I do so, I am thinking of two different formulas:

1. roughly copying nopox. I.e. about a 60/40 vinegar to vodka ratio. Thus, 6ml of vinegar and 4 ml vodka.

2. accounting for the "vodka is 8x as concetrated as white vinegar" rule I read somewhere. This would mean, to keep the same amount of carbon, 6ml vinegar and .5ml vodka, to keep carbon dosing at roughly the same net amount I'm dosing now.

Thoughts? Anyone find that by adding vodka you got anything you might not get by dosing white vinegar alone?

The only benefits I have seen in other peoples tanks is that some carbon sources seem more prone to causing cyano outbreaks than others. A person dosing Vodka may be find but if they try vinegar they get an outbreak. A different tank could be the exact opposite.
