Adding washed up barnacle to a reef tank

I was at the beach this weekend and found a nice barnacle that washed up on the shore. Would it be safe to put into my tank?

Empty shells? Alive animals? Dead animals? Could be a nutrient bomb

Depends on the beach. I'd soak it in some peroxide at least.
