My fish stock right now is two clownfish, a royal gramma, and a mystery wrasse. Id like to have more wrasse in my tank. What are some other wrasse I can place in it, I tried a false eyed wrasse but unfortunately it got beaten to death.

My tank is 65 gallons

Yellow coris wrasse. I just added one to my tank with a leopard wrasse. No problems

Unfortunately mystery wrasses are not very tolerent of other wrasses. Particularly ones added after them in a tank that size.

Exactly.

Unfortunately, the Mystery Wrasse basically precludes you from adding any additional wrasse.

Gah of course! I think the mystery wrasse is the best looking but I wanted more!

I had lfs say to add a few wrasses at night time with the lights out, and should help. Any thoughts?

Not going to matter, mystery and sixline wrasse will kill any other wrasse in the tank. Especially a 65 gallon. If you want more wrasses you'll need to remove the mystery wrasse first. You could try hanging a mirror for a few days to distract the mystery but most likely once the mirror is down he will proceed to kill any and all other wrasses in te tank and to be totally honest might not even care about the mirror if other wrasses are present.

ON this page of my thread post #91 i found a simple and cheap way to make an acclimation box. This box worked great. i left them in there for about a week or until i saw the other fish were not messing with them. once i let them out no one picked on the new fish.

I had 2 wrasses in my tank originally and than added 3 more 1 was a mystery wrasse. so far no problems. its weird my mystery is the nicest out of all my wrasses lol

Not sure how he did his acclimation box because the link is not working for me, but a cheap one can be made out of those cheap pet carriers and a cleaning magnet to hold it in place. Just use a soldering iron to poke holes in it and they stay nice and smooth. I believe if was Kevin kohen from liveaquaria divers den that reccomended doing it this way. But regardless the mystery wrasse will lead to problems.

Yes and Yes.

I meant what I said; there's no "tricks" here to make the risk go away.

Thanks everyone for your help, I guess my mystery is going to have to find a new home!
