Is a add on canister of zeolites a reasonable idea for additional ion exchange and ammonia removal as a chloramine byproduct?

For an RO/DI system, there should be no ammonia released from the DI.

If you use RO only (no DI) and want to remove ammonia, then certain zeolites might be useful, yes. I'm not sure it is less expensive than a DI, and may be less effective.

I'mm not sure it is worth the bother to put a zeolite after a DI, and could actually introduce other ions (e.g., aluminum or silicate).
