After 5 months of cycling around 30 pounds of live rock, I am finally ready to add it to the DT. Over the years I've lost a complete aquascape due to selling corals etc. When I add the new rock to the tank should I worry about an "ugly stage" or will the new rock gradually transition into the tank biomass culture?
I also have mapped out the addition of some sand to fill in some gaps here and there. I would plan to first rinse the sand with RO and then slowly add in small increments over weeks at a time until the gaps are filled.
Are there any unforeseen issues I might come across? I am quite comfortable proceeding with these steps but don't want to upset and already very happy tank.
Cheers,
Nigel
