I have a 60G Mixed Reef thats a bare bottom system. I do weekly WC's using Fritz PRO RPM Salt mix. Before water changes I turkey blast rocks to get the detritus up in the water column then proceed with WC. I was wondering what are some good chemicals if any to add to break down organics, detritus etc in between WC's. Looking for something that would clean up tank breaking done poop, oragnics, detritus etc. Thanks

There's nothing you can really add to accelerate the breakdown of organics, aside from ozone. At least nothing I'd recommend.

Best way to deal with organics is to bind them with GAC or remove them by skimming (or both). :)

I currently use GFO, by GAC you mean "Granular Activated Carbon" ?

How about MB7?

Yes, activated carbon.

I don't believe that the bacteria in mb7 will appreciably reduce organic levels, but there's little potential harm in adding extra bacteria if you want.
