Any suggestions on adding better Blue LED for the Red Sea Max 34 gal? Makes or models? Would I need to go with a strip light? I find that I have to strain to look at my tank under the current LED's. T5's work nicely though.
Thanks

I have the same Red Sea model. I took two led strips and drilled them into the black hollow part of the hood and ran the wires to the back right where all the other cords run to. The moonlights were just not enough.

I installed these Actinic Blue LEDs
TrueLumen LED Strips | Current-USA
They do not overpower the T5's but do make a huge difference. When they are on all by themselves later at night it really shows off the corals. Ever since I added these LEDs in I also noticed very accelerated growth of my zoas. I love them.

Did you add white as well or just the Blue? Also can they be dimmed?
Thank you

Binned Cree XT-E Royal Blue 450nm will give you serious grow and colour pop. And over power T5;) watt per watt...Seriously...

5 Watt LEDs are available and mainstream

Those 1 watt no name and 3 watt knockoffs...What spectrum? >455nm=Less Colour Pop

Dimming is the driver and controller, many options.
