It’s been since December since I posted anything and not sure how much has changed but no major catastrophe’s.
I did add two Maxspect Gyres and love them. I took out the unused reactors which freed up a bit of space in my return chamber to relocate a heater.
The one thing that did go downhill was my Chaeto in the fuge. The weak grow light I’d set up did a fantastic job at growing GHA which choked out the Chaeto so I killed the light and the GHA in the fuge with 8 weeks of darkness. Probably won’t light it back up until I can upgrade my light.
I did add a Duncan, Chalice and another little coral from QT a week ago and they seem happy.
Current fish are:
Yellow Tang
4 Lyretail anthias
Blue/Gold Damsel
Pygmy Angel
6 line wrasse
RG Basslet
Watchman Goby w/six shooter, Pistol Pete
Bangai Cardnal

You are getting purple coraline on your rocks. You are managing your water well. Tank looks great. Congrats!

Yes a few spots here and there. [emoji322]
Just started dosing 2 part with B ionic while I wait for BRS to issue their new full 2 part kits with dosing pump. Hope that accelerates the coralline and growth of the new corals I’ve added.

Here is my FTS for April. A couple new “events” in that my Duncan has decided to implode as he has shed all his skin on on head and is slowly degenerating on the other. The only factor is I started dosing 2 part this last month. All my other corals are doing great. Then a brown algae has decided to creep over the tank. Looks like a cycle type algae but my water parameters are quite good so not sure about that and am going to watch and see before taking any steps to correct which in my experience leads to more problems.

Well not sure if I am doing this build thread correctly by just continuing to add on or if another new thread is required but since it took almost 5 min just to locate this most recent update I will continue on here.
Strangely I thought I was already past a year since starting my new build but going back to dated pics prior to joining R2R it would appear that I am hovering at the 9 month mark. Go figure.
Since my last update, my ugly brown algae issue turned out to be Dino’s. With some excellent help from @mcarroll i think it mostly under control. Still some slight brown shadows on the substrate but I’m not even concerned enough to grab a sample and check under the scope.
Water parameters are stable and (knock on wood) the only fatality was my beloved Duncan that after researching on this forum, I’ve determined it was RTN.
On a happier note just got in 14 new corals from @WWC and they appear to be healthy and happy. The list includes
Candy striped Aussie Lord
ORA birds of paradise Birdsnest
Hollywood Stunner Chalice
Firecracker Styloceniella
Superman Monti
Lime frogspawn
Neon and Bi color hammer
2 Aussie Duncan’s
And out of the mystery 4 pack
Graffiti war coral
Jingle Bell cyphastrea
Striped Acan
Fire and Ice Zoas
I am excited to see these specimens grow out and find their forever placement positions in the rock work.

Update on new 90. It’s been exactly one year and one day since bringing the new tank home.
Recent activity consists of moving frags from rack to areas where I hope they will thrive.
All the fish are doing well and no losses despite my males Anthias attempt at tile surfing.
Trying to get a stint with cyano under control and thinking about trying a black out but until I can get my PO4 down (0.25)I’ll back burner that plan.
My other challenge is to capture a pistol shrimp but I think his Goby is sly to my trap and tipping him off so he’s not taking the bait as it were.

Very nice tank. Really want to add some anthias to my 90g one day.

Why is the pistol shrimp getting the boot?
Thanks @Reefpuck . The Pistol (“Pete”) is quite the excavator. They should be called “Front end Loader” shrimp. I was mistakenly under the impression that they would hole up in a spot and stay there but he plows through all the substrate all over all the time, burying corals or trying to drag them into his hole. If I cannot catch him I am thinking that if I put the coral on a large enough flat rock on the bottom he might not be as likely to cover them up. But the short answer is I want the substrate real estate for coral not shrimp trenches. Lol
