Adjusting a driver what should i set mA to??

I’m going to be adjusting a Mean Well ELN-60-48D dimmable driver, but I’m trying to figure out how many mA I should set it to if I’m running 11 led’s with a Potentiometer. I already watched the video on how to adjust the driver so I get the gist of this I’m just trying to tie up all the loose ends. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated thanks!!

It depends on the LED. Generally 70% or less of the LEDs max rated current.

Personally I like to drive the Cree XT-E between 700-1000mA

Any 10vdc power supply works. Just dial it back to start. I measured one ELN60-48D at 1.8mA out of the box. This is more that its rated current and the max current of the LEDs.

all 6 of my 48d's tested 1.8ish mA out of the box i run 2 strings of 12 at 750mA on each with a universal dc adapter from best buy ( 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 volt) and havent had any problems. FYI i have a potentiometer on them but honestly with that adapter you dont need it unless you really want to tweek the color because it can regulate its own voltage

added info to my previous post, i run the dc adapter on 10v, i haven't nor would i recomend using the 12v setting

The reason I would use the potentiometer so I don't bleach my coral when I set it at 750 mA. By setting it to 750 mA will I not have to increase the lighting intensity slowly soy coral won't bleach any advice on this ??

I think what ajskennes was getting at is he can change the voltage if he wants lower the power. Similar to the potentionmeter but doesn't have the infinite adjustment.

So when I setup the driver I should tune it out to 750mA with the potentiometer and slowly increase the intensity weekly by using the potentiometer right?? Just trying to fully understand so I don't end up killing my coral .

you want to set the mA inside the driver buy adjusting the svr2 all the way down (counter clockwise) then with a multimeter wired in line like it was a led itself plug the driver in and turn it clockwise untill you reach the matched current for the led's you are using, the reason for this is to regulate the drivers max current, as said previously most of the 48d's are under rated and if turned all the way up when powerd on it more than likely will fry the led's, the potentiometer allowes you to adjust the drivers current from 0 to whatever your max current was set at
