I never get this right! The manufacturer’s instructions are impossible to understand. Can you help me adjust the water and air tubes?!? The skimmer cup fills 3/4 full to nearly completely full with water, and bubbles foam over the lid. I rarely get any decent skimmate.

My water level in my sump is at 8,” per manual instructions. My large tube adjustment hole is fully open. The water level in the skimmer base is a little less than halfway up the base (about 3-4”). The remainder of the base is filled with foam bubbles.

How long has the skimmer been running? If it's new, it's just going to need a few days to break in.

I'm running a 220 also with 8" water level in that chamber. The most important tuning piece in this skimmer is the water release. Start with the inner plastic tube raised as high as possible. This will allow water to escape the skimming chamber faster and reduce the size of the foam head. Then, maybe one half turn every couple minutes, tune it down.

I get some pretty gunky skimmate with this skimmer and the release tube is about 1" from the top.
