I have some red slime algae and have some chemiclean.

I have questions about dosing.

It says a scoop for every 10 gallons. Is it a gross gallon for the aquarium .. ie the volume with out rocks etc or the estimated gallons taking into account the displacement of water from the rocks and sand?

I heard some reefers had tank crash using it. Should i worry about it?

when i used it I did it per gallons not taking into account about the rocks. I shut off my skimmer and if i remember it correctly I did a water change 2 or 3 days later. Its been awhile since I needed it but the stuff works great

I used it based on water volume but I left it in for 36 hours before the waterchanges. Left me with spotless white sand. Also killed all of my sponges, and a 4in seasquirt. It worked well but I don't think I'll use again, I found that my problem was adding aminos. I doubled my waterchanges, run chemipure changing it often, and changed my feeding mix.

Yes and also worry about it comming back until you figure out why you have it.
