Advice for anyone new to the hobby

Hello fellow reefers,

Don’t know if this has been done before but I would like to start a thread on the best advice you was given as a beginner, to help other beginners.

Mine was to let the tank stabilise and don’t go chasing numbers...

Looking forward to everyone’s reply’s and hope this thread can help beginners new to the hobby.

I completely agree, mine was to just be patient- not usually my strong suite. Also read as much as you can before purchasing and adding anything.

I would say to buy all of the equipment you want before you ever add water. Once water hits the tank, that dosing pump or uv sterilizer gets easy to put off over again...

How many watts of light you need for the type of coral and size of tank, not what kind.

The fastest path to success is to avoid problems. Take that any way you see fit.

You're doing too much.
