Advice for best post production to smooth out prints

Hi,
I've never bothered trying to do post production on my filament prints to smooth them out for aquarium use. I figure more surface area is better anyway. But, I was wondering if anyone does anything to their PETG to make it smooth after printing. Thanks!

I watched a video the other day where the guy used a fan and acetone to smooth/round a bunch of chess pieces. Not sure if this method is reef safe, but the results were pretty fantastic (4:35 mark).

thanks! yes I was wondering if the acetone method was reefsafe. I was just assuming it wasn't. If I could catch my Damsel He could help me test. ;Jawdrop
