Any possible problems or advice besides just which order to put them in would be appreciated as well!

Wanting to get, in possible order...

Clownfish
Wrasse (thinking melanarus, red velvet, or Lubbock's fairy )
Dwarf angelfish (thinking lemonpeel x half black hybrid, eibli, or coral beauty )
Electric indigo dottyback
Bristletooth Tang
Falco hawkfish

I do have some dwarf zebra hermits, colonists snails and a small cleaner shrimp. I'm not 100% worried if they become lunch but hoping the larger claws will help on the hermits?

Thanks for any help

The dottyback could be aggressive toward the hawkfish and wrasse. They tend to be a bit aggro. The melanarus and possibly hawkfish will likely eat the shrimp and pick off hermits over time. I would add any of the wrasse first and the tang and angel last. As @JumboShrimp asked would be helpful to know the size of the tank

What size would you recommend for those fish? Currently sitting at a 30 which I know is to small. I initially wanted to start small for 2 clowns and a falco hawkfish, but will be moving soon and will be upgrading in the new house.

If I'm unable I'll stick with my previous plan.

I've heard and hope that this specific dottyback may be not be as aggressive. should I aim for a larger species of Wrasse to keep the Dotty from picking on it?

I'm surprised to hear the angel should be last with the Tang, I know they aren't necessarily peaceful I guess I just read worse about the Dotty/hawk. There's so many different experiences I'm having a hard time placing them all.

As in 30 gallons or 300 gallons?

I would wait til you upgrade to get the tang and angel, melaranus and possibly the dottyback, or else it’s gonna be the thunder dome in there! I would say the minimum would be a 75, but a 90 would be better

I did say 30, I did not say I intend to put those fish in that tank. Just that I got it expecting to only get the two clowns and hawk and now I want to upgrade and am trying to plan around it. Which is why I asked what was recommended :D

As well as why I'm trying to figure out the other aspects ahead of time so I'm prepared. I've done a lot of research, but everyone has different experience with fish personalities and I feel lost on how to gauge which fish is more aggressive than the others to put last in the tank.

I do appreciate the size recommendations though.

Don’t add the hawk or dottyback, they’ll eat the shrimp & crabs, the wrasse might as well. From your list, add tang first, then angel & clowns. Add a gramma instead of dottyback. Good luck with your tank, hope this helps
