I know the tank is supposed to be level. I checked before filling my tank, and it looked good with a 3ft level. When water got to the overflows it wasn't quite level. Water only goes over the right rear overflow. Here are my options
1. Drain entire tank and shim it.
2. Raise the panel with cutouts on it on the right rear about 1/4 inch. This is easily done and I could adjust as needed to insure both left & right were overflowing evenly.

Wife doesnt like option one at all prefers option two.

What do you guys think? Any problems you see in raising the removable overfow a 1/4 inch?

Raise The Overflows!
I would go the path of least resistance. Wait a minute tho... what size tank? If it is a large tank and the level is too far off it could place uneven stress on the seams and eventually fail causing a leak.
I would hope for the overflows being the un level part of the equation.

What size tank? A level tank doesn't all of a sudden go out of level. I'm thinking that this is a "big" tank and the weight has deflected the floor/joists causing the draining problem. Put that level on the floor around the tank.

Is the tank level? Is the water inside the tank level? If the answer is yes to both of these questions, then shimming the stand/tank is NOT the answer and your overflows may be crooked.

Dirty, the overflows are siliconed at the bottom and sides. Each one has a panel that lifts out. This part has the screen on it. I can raise the right one a liitle bit so water overflows both. My main concern is that this in effect raises the tank volume by 1 or 2 gallons. Worried about sump overflowing in a power failure.

The water line is not quite level.

Sorry for the double post above. The water line is about 1/4 inch off left to right on the 6' 125 gallon tank.

Im assuming there is no livestock in the tank. I would take a bunch of water out of the DT and shim the side that needs raising.

No livestock just rock and sand. Can I shim the tank? Or would it be better to shim the counter (more work)?

I'm sorry, I should have said shim the stand not the actual tank. I would definitely shim the stand(counter).

Okay, that's tomorrows plan then.

Thanks everyone.

Empty the tank and do it right!
