I want to keep (2) pairs of clownfish. My original thinking was having (2) Nuvo 10’s on a Nuvo 20 APS stand.

I’ve spoken to a rep @ Innovative Marine and he said (2) Nuvo 10’s would fit on a Nuvo 20 APS Stand.

Then i realized it would be double the water changes, double the ATO equipment, etc.

Why not divide a Nuvo 20, and at this point maybe a Nuvo 30 down the middle with a piece of black acrylic. (*still deciding if the acrylic should have holes or overflow teeth)

There would be (1) Inflow @ (1) outflow on each side with only needing (1) ATO and water changes on (1) tank instead of (2).

What are your thoughts??

*Right now this will be Bare Bottom Low Maintenance FOWLR, my plan down the road is to add a BTA on each side for the clowns. No other fish or coral.

*have a baby due any day now and want something that requires very little maintenance.

I’d say definitely go with the 30L separated by a piece of acrylic. It’s 36” long so it gives plenty of swimming length even divided in half.

With a solid piece of acrylic as a divider, it would be the same as having 2 tanks. Why not use a perforated divider? Now, you can keep inhabitants separated and still have the convenience of one tank.

Samnaz i agree the 36” would be the better option. Thank you for your input.

Dom, i do not want a solid piece, just using acrylic as example for divider. Question is do i drill holes throughout the piece or just cut teeth in the top for water to flow over? I want it to look clean like it was made for the tank so black acrylic would be best.

I've seen acrylic dividers made with holes drilled equidistant throughout the sheet. Check this out:

Or you could cut a piece of egg crate to fit as a divider.

I’ve seen acrylic dividers made specifically for this purpose, I know for sure they’re available on eBay. I can’t remember where else I saw them, I want to say modular marine makes them but I’m not positive. Google search is your best bet for many options.
