HELLO
ok first let me set me say my tank is banging. i see growth, good color IMO, etc.

I have been auto-dosing red sea ab+, seachems reef plus and feeding oyster feast for many moons haha.

some say if a tank is doing good don't mess with anything I get it. the old if it isn't broke don't fix it. I GET IT.

the reason I'm pondering switching from reef plus to acro power is im looking for that steroid boost for my corals, that extra edge in faster growth. the masses say it is the bee's knees for coral. I know my coral grows well, but some of my acros / sps grow slower than others Monti's and chalices, so that is not right in my mind. as you can see in these photos the monti has grown about 1" over two months, but the acro (which is at the same height as the monti but just left of it by 6") not so much)
so this is really a two part post.

why better growth rates from different species of SPS? would switching to acro power make all sps growth rates equal? Pics 2 an 4 were taken today.

Thin monti caps and plating chalice will always visually outgrow acropora. The achieve greater surface area for photosynthesis per amount of bone they have to lay down.

As to dosing aminos, I am meh about that. I know my dinoflagellates just love the stuff, but never noticed any difference with/without for SPS growth.

I like more light, more flow, more fish waste.
