I am looking at a Red Sea Reefer 350 or the Red Sea C Max 250 - unsure which is best, keen on corals and fish.

Anyway my LFS has recommended the following items for the Reefer 350.

Aqua One MariGlo LED 120cm x 2 (Are they any good? hard to find reviews). I want to grow good corals.

Protein Skimmer Reef Octopus NWB110 1 ?????

Plus live coral or not?

TY Mark

Hi!

Cannot comment on the LED, but other than that;
Personally I would go for the reefer, bit more water, but best of all, with the sump it is a lot easier to adapt equipment based on your needs/preferences.
No personal experience with the protein skimmer, but have seen some positive feedback on them.

Most valuable lesson I learned, don't buy cheaper equipment than you actually want. Better to save some more money and buy the desired equipment first time around. You'll end up buying it anyway ;)

Good luck!

awesome advice! I've never heard of that light before, but you may want to do your own research into lighting. Figure out a good budget and what you want your lighting to do for you, then start your search. There are several vendors here on R2R that would be happy to answer your technical questions about specific lights when you get it narrowed down some.

I belive there are probably better choices for lighting, but the question becomes budget.
Not saying a big name brand is better, but there are a lot of options out there.
