Guys I have had my tank running for only 2 months now and would like to start looking into docing to increase the necessary peramiters to keep spa and clams. Iv heard about docing kalk to increase calcium. My question is what parameters should i be testing for and what should i be docing with to increase them. Thanks guys

For Sps these should be a must for Long term care
Alk is prob the most important can't let it swing to much
Cal
Mag
Nitrite and nitrates
Go get good test kits like safert

Read up on sps tanks like the sps gurus up above and read all u can
Try two part dose every day

Are you running a controller for your tank? I always found it easier to keep your tank stable when utilizing one but its not a must.

Read up on what was suggested above - Calcium needs to be around 350-450 and Magnesium will help facilitate the higher end of that spectrum.

Keep your alk close to 9, calcium at 450 and mag around 1400... Find the closest numbers you can get to those after the tank settles in.. Once you have alk x and cal x and mag x then it's all about holding them there without and fluctuations.... Where you tank adapts is not really that important since the corals will adapt but what is important is holding the stable as possible at what ever they are...;)

When your just starting its hard to give you one post and teach you everything but start with what Troylee^^^ said and please ask as many questions and read and start as many threads as you have to until you have everything right. It takes some practice and some work but just like anything you will get out of it what you put in. So please dont be shy, we will help you along the way.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I'm going to be ordering a redsea test kit soon that includes magnesium calcium and alk. Hopefully that gives me an idea of where to start
