I have a 20 Gallon nano (rectangle) mixed reef with a single XR-15 mounted with the standard RMS. Everything is doing very well and growing quickly with SPS up top and LPS down lower. I really don't want to change things up since it seems to be going well but shadowing is starting to become an issue. I have an AI Prime that I would like to add for additional light and to reduce shadowing. The plan is to move the Radion over to the left and add the Prime on the right side with some (welcomed) overlap in the middle. Can't do anything yet because my Radions will not connect with the stupid app and I know I'll need to lower them when I add the prime. I also need to setup another PAR meter rental to make sure I'm not going to start blasting things. Anyone have any advice for running two different types of lights and adding light without shocking the tank?

I can’t help with the question but I can bump the thread to see if we can get you some help

How long is the tank? I would add T5’s or a couple LED bars if you can. I don’t think those two lights would blend well, but I could be wrong?
2 ft tank. Do you mean that spectrum won’t blend well? I would love to add T5s I just think it’s way too small of a tank

Yeah, I think blending those two lights might not look good, but it doesn't hurt to try. I don't think T5's would be too much, plus you don't have to run them that long. I ran 3 Kessil 160's and a 4 bulb ATI sunpower over my 22g sps nano without issue. The T5's were only on during peak hours. The benefit of using bars or T5's is the uniform/blanket of light that blends well with any other led fixture.
