Advice on adding LED-strips to my existing Fluval Flex 15g

Hi.
So I find that my stock lighting in the Fluval Flex 15g is not enough for some of the corals I wanted to add so I have bought a RGB LED-Strip to try and upp the lighting a little bit as a test.

So I have a LED-strip that is about 3W/ft and about 9ft total length.
I was thinking about making two strips of aprox 15 inches but I am now even considering using couplings and create much more strips about 6pc 15 inches long in the lid.

Would it make any difference with these kind of LED-lights if I put 2 strips or 6 strips?
These are dimable so am I thinking correct that it wouldn't harm if I put 6 strips in the lid? I have the length and couplings for it at home anyways.
