Hi all, having some trouble getting the flow right in my lagoon 50.

setup was using was one max spect jump 2k running across the top of the tank but this was blowing my torch one direction and not side to side swaying.

I bought another 2k gyre for the other side as advised by the LFS to run horizontally facing each other. Even on 10% power these were battering my poor torch.

I then mounted them vertical as shown in pictures set to 10-20% pulses which does seem better but the bottom arms of the coral don’t seem to be getting enough flow as they still tucked underneath.

The gyres do come apart so you can run them with one arm instead of two halfing the power.

Still fairly new to this so maybe something I’m missing.

Tank parameters

salinity 1.025
Temp 26c
Ammonia <0.05
Nitrites 0
Nitrates 0
Phosphate 0

Tank is 3 months old and torch has been in for 4 days

We have a 50-gallon tank too and we use three different powerheads. The first powerhead we purchased was the MP10 and that was not enough so we picked up the MP40. They are on opposite sides of each other. Well, when we started in the SPS corals, they require more flow so these two powerheads are not able to change directions so we purchased the RedSea ReefWave45 and placed it on the back of the tank blowing towards the front. Seams to work fine. They are not at even 1/2 power and the ReefWave is on the first two settings.
