Advice on raising iron and potassium

My iron is reading at 0.05 and the potassium is lower than what the chart goes. Am I needing to set up a dosing cycle to keep those numbers up or is there something to help?

I use reef moomshiners products which includes these as part of the program but brightwell additives also good

I was at 370 the other day on potassium and dosed red sea potassium and got it up to 410 FWIW. I just added it to my water change water but don't know if any difference makes any difference.

I think 20 ml. I have a 125 that is about 110 gallons after all said and done

I’m leaning that way myself since numbers hasn’t changed at all in the few days I used it. I guess the lfs just wanted to push that product since it’s their biggest name brand sponsor

I just may have to double up on it then, just going by what my lfs said just ain’t cutting it or the product I have is just trash

I'm looking into the reef moonshiners supplements in the future, though. Although, I don't really want to test all that often as they recommend. I usually end up starting with proper methods, then I end up dosing by clinical judgement at some point.

I’m gonna look into the moonshiners brand today. I need something that is good that works

Fergon tablets from a drug store is my recommendation for folks who do need iron, and I herb now foods food grade potassium chloride is perfect for potassium.

No need to pay hobby prices for these.

This is from an ICP test I got. Note that 1 ug/L = 0.001 ppm.

Iron (Fe). The natural iron level varies a lot with depth, but surface seawater may have only 0.006 µg/L. The Triton LOD = 0.3 µg/L. I dose iron, and when I dose it I boost iron to roughly 1-2 µg/L, which would be detectable. This sample was taken more than a week after the last iron dosing, and none was detected as it gets depleted in the meanwhile. I’ve not yet seen a Triton test result for a real aquarium sample that had detectable iron, but that doesn’t mean these tanks are necessarily deficient. Iron is also a case where the form is critical, and ICP cannot distinguish form. Binding to organic matter, for example, can alter the bioavailability of iron.
