I'm getting everything ready for my upgrade next year and the last thing I need to figure out is what t5 bulbs to use to supplement my halides. The tank will be atleast a 180. I'm going to run 2 250w and 1 400w halide along with 4 t5 bulbs. The 250w will be pheonix 14k and the 400 I can't remember what bulbs I have but the color spectrum is basically the same as the pheonix. I've never ran t5 so need some advice on what bulb combination would work best.

Thanks in advance

Also anyone running halide/t5 lighting please post a picture and let me know what bulb combo you're running

I run 2x250 de phoenix with 2x54 over my 75g. One coral+ and one blue+, I really like the combination. With the Phoenix's, 4 blue+ would be too blue for my liking.

Well, one pendant decided to take a plunge into the tank last week so I'm waiting for a replacement but I can post a pic tomorrow.

2-250 watt Radium on M80 ballast. 2 blue plus 2 purple plus t5. 2 blue reef Brite led bars.

Late reply...Like I said in my first post, running 250w DE Phoenix :)

I finally got my replacement fixture, ended up putting in a 250w Radiums on my HQI ballast. Even though the Radium is 20k, to me its almost an identical color of the 14k Phoenix.

Radium on the left, Phoenix on the right (with the coral + and blue +)
