I have a 50g mixed reef that is a little over 2 years old. Currently, I am dosing 20 ml of All for Reef. I would like to begin dosing kalkwasser, 1. for the pH boost and 2. because I would like to cut down on the amount of trace elements entering my system. I'm not sure how to go about the transition. Should I cut the A4R dose to around 10 ml and start with a low kalk dose, raising it slowly until my alk stabilizes? Would i be better going back to 2part, along with kalk? I guess it's possible kalk could handle all of my consumption, but I do like the idea of A4R adding some trace elements back to the system. I'm doing 15-20g wc's every other week so maybe I don't need the trace elements. I'm not looking for someone to lay out an entire dosing regiment for my system but I would like to hear people's advice... mainly how much kalk would it take to supplement the 10ml of A4R I'm planning on cutting out of my dosing schedule. Or better ideas regarding the transition.

do you even need trace supplements? i noticed a deficiency in my sps colour (specifically the greens in my monti's) when I wasn't dosing them (seachem fuel), probably due to my chaeto using iron. i wc minimally, like once a month.
but if your wc schedule is as it is, you might not find a need for them. (personally use kalk and 2 part, kalk rocks)

It's possible I don't. But I do have a few sps corals that are growing like crazy...along with LPS and softies. That's one of the reasons I would like to cut back my A4R dose. But like I said, I'm open to switching back to 2part. However, I've been dosing A4R for around 4 months and if anything, the corals are growing faster than they were 6 months ago. I just need to figure out what would be a reasonable kalk dose to begin with based on my current A4R consumption
