Advice on where to go from here-Ich?

Was the freshwater dip and the QT properly aerated prior to adding the fish? I mean heavily aerated for 30 minutes prior.
Yeah. Air Stone in dip while I watched temp drop to match. I was actually really pleased with myself because the temps were perfect across all three areas.
Put a sweet volcano decoration in the hospital tank cuz just some PVC fittings looked so sad and that had been running for a while.

Although I did NOT run air while it was in dip, was afraid it would drop temp to fast, cuz I was only dipping in like a 2 liter hang on tank bucket thing the fish stores always use for transferring to the bags.

Did you use dechlorinated tap water?

By that do you mean tap water, with Prime added? Yes. And the tiniest pinch of baking soda just to feel like I did something for PH.

I took the airstone out of water less than 2 minutes before putting the wrasse in dip.

Although I can’t say for certain, two things likely are in play here; the stress from the capture and then the chronic nature of the problem (dating back to January?).
I’ve literally run fish to death trying to get them out of some tanks. There are tricks, but they don’t always work; chasing the fish into a stationary net or trying to capture them at night when they are sleeping. Then, whatever was causing the symptoms had been going on for quite some time. The fish could have been pretty sick by this time.
I’m terms of damage control, refresh my memory - what other fish are involved, and what is your plan for them?

FWIW, I usually use water from DT to fill QT so the parameters are exact match... less stressful that way.

I don’t have enough experience really to say, but I think it had to have been the total stress of the situation. It came out of the tank, inside one of the rocks I pulled, and it did not want to come out. Then netting it inside the pond was a bad time.

Best course of action is to pull the long nose hawkish, and two clowns for a fallow period I suppose? Neither of them have had any type of symptoms I can see.

But I would like to do this all the right way, and just because these little guys might be beating whatever’s going on, would hate to introduce a more frail fish to have to go through this all over again.

just wish I could have figured out what it was exactly wrong with the wrasse. I am afraid of doing anything stressful I don’t need to do.
