Advice on zoa issues

I bought AOI's from WWC last year and they seemed happy but no growth for months. I moved them to higher light and flow 2 months ago and it's growing 3 heads per month. They seem to like higher lighting.

Quick question when ur hands are in the tank messing around with stuff like moving plugs oh moving equipment have an affect on the coral like zoas? If so is it best to keep hands out of the tank? I was adding a new rack the other day I made and moving plugs around and now some are closed again. Thanks guys
