Advice to catch a pistol shrimp

I have a large pistol shrimp that came along for a ride with some FL LR, i can watch the sand rise as it burrows underneath. Worst part is it had been snapping for days as I had reduced the amount I was feeding to lower nitrate po4, well I am pretty sure it took out a small clown fish as the snapping stopped when it disappeared. I have found no body or skeleton yet, but believe it must be under some LR>

Thoughts other than a complete tear out, which I really don't want as the SPS are finally taking off after 3 months of not disturbing them.

I don;t think it is a mantis issue, as everyone says there not shy and it would be scene. We spend alot of time watching the tank and a bunch hunting out all the stone crabs.

IMO he probably did not take out the clown. He is snapping to call his mate (watchman or other types of gobies). These are very cool pairs btw! They will be okay without tons of food. If you really want to rid him, you can try a small bottle trap on sand bed near his burrow.
